Since the passage of the Federal Rail Banking Act in 1983, more than 30,000 miles of rail corridors have been preserved for future rail use. Many of these corridors have entered into Interim Use agreements to be used as multi-use greenways, or rail trails. While the process of negotiating and administrating a rail trail project can be daunting, choosing the right firm to help with the corridor valuation doesn't have to be!  We have helped with the valuation of many such projects over the past 10 years.

As a DOT-approved appraiser in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, we have experience in working with both the government agencies and the railroads. We understand the methodologies and documentation requirements needed to get these transactions completed. We can value corridors for grant purposes as well as purchase transactions involving the Surface Transportation Board.
